Once again, we didn't leave the competition without race hardware! Two medals were attained for the Kirby team: by Kyle who took third place in Sophomore Boys and Geneva who took second in Sophomore Girls.

Alice Koltchev worked her way to a top ten finish, coming in 8th place in Sophomore Girls. The rest of the team competed in their respective fields while battling harsh afternoon winds.

Similar to Kyle's major mechanical heartbreak on the start of last year's State Championships, Ramsey Kerr suffered a hit from a rider behind him, sustaining the eventual loss of his complete rear derailleur. Ramsey was a true sportsman running much of the course without a drivetrain- way to hang in there Ramsey!

As of this race, Kirby Santa Cruz stands in seventh place in Division two.
