Our second race on the shores of lake Folsom was a great event. Our team found the course to be very much like that of Fort Ord. Unlike last year, the weather was beautiful (we would later make up for the weather at Angels Camp). Also, it was a great evening in what will probably become a Kirby MTB team tratdition of dinner at the Macroni Grill the night before the race.
Abi rode her new Rock Lobster for the first time at this race! She had a drive train issue right after the start, then, being behind the rest of the pack with no one in sight, she went down a wrong road only to turn around and get back on course! She still came in 20th place!
Taras, favored to finish in the top ten, also had a mechanical- his middle chain ring let go toward the end of the race, he finished in 26th place.
